This scarf is incredibly soft, which is always a plus. The colors are vibrant, however the red is less the purplish color in the photos and more run of the mill red. It is a light scarf that would be perfect for fall or a warmer winter day. It is not long. It is large and could easily be used as a shawl, however it isn't rectangular with long tails. I have had many complements, and I purchased the exact color. It is soft to the touch, not itchy or scratchy fabric. I have read other reviews on other scarfs that they have an odor - but not this one. Purchase this!!!
